Can I get a letter of invitation from your hospital to apply for a visa?
Yes, once you have decided to come to China to do the treatment, we will prepare an invitation letter for you. You can find a list of Chinese missions abroad here: https://www.shiguan-zhongguo.com/
What is the nearest airport to the hospital? Can you arrange to meet me at the airport?
There are 2 airports in Beijing, which are Beijing Daxing Airport and Beijing Capital Airport, you could choose the closer airport to the hospital. The airport is approximately 50 minutes drive from any of our hospital campuses. Our English-speaking staff will wait for you at the exit holding a board with your name on it. Please let us know if you have any special needs, such as a wheelchair or stretcher.
What things do I need to bring with me from home? What things will the hospital provide?
You will wear your own clothes, pyjamas and shoes for most of your time in hospital. You can bring (or buy locally) your own clothes and shoes. You will also need to bring your own toiletries and hygiene items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc. We don’t provide hairdryers, so if you need one, please bring it with you (220V). You may need a converter plug to convert your electronics to 220V.
Can you tell me more about the inpatient rooms? What things will the hospital provide for us?
Your room is a private, modern and functional hospital room. There is an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Our standard rooms have a patient bed and a doctor’s bed, an LCD television, Wardrobe. There is a room in the corridor outside the ward with hot/warm water and microwave oven You can use them at any time.
Does your hospital have Wi-Fi in the patient room?
We have a free Wi-Fi service for patients and their families.
How will I be able to communicate with my Chinese doctors, nurses and therapists?
We recognizes that communication between the medical team and patients has a significant impact on patient care. Therefore, we provide free English language assistance for patients whose preferred language is not Mandarin Chinese, and other languages upon special request. Subject to availability. Our service hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm. Outside office hours, on-call interpreters are available for emergencies. Some of our doctors, nurses and therapists are also bilingual.
Where can family members stay? Does the hospital have a facility where we can book a room?
One or two of the escorts can stay overnight in the in-patient room. Our International Centre staff can help other escorts book hotels near our hospital before you land. The cost is approximately CNY 300 per night. If you are a BMT patient, your treatment period is longer and the dietary requirements are stricter, so we suggest you rent an apartment near the hospital. Accompanying persons can cook for the patient every day. Almost all apartments in China are furnished. Monthly rent ranges from RMB 8000-12000 for a 2-3 bedroom apartment. At least one month’s notice is required.
Is there halal food available in the vicinity of the hospital ?
Yes, there are several halal restaurants near the hospital. We can help you order food online and it will be delivered to the hospital.
Is there housing /lodging available around the hospital?
Housing and lodging is easily available around the hospital, here are hotels and apartments around the hospital. All apartments in China are fully equipped and you can live directly. We will provide you with a list of hotel apartments for you to choose from.
How I will wash my clothes during my hospitalization?
Our staff at the International Center will help you contact a laundromat, which will pick up the clothes that need to be washed at the hospital entrance and take them away, and the clothes will be returned to you in about 5 days’ time.
Is there a supermarket near the hospital? How can I buy some daily necessities?
Yes, there is a convenience store underneath the hospital where you can buy basic necessities. There are also many supermarkets, restaurants and large shopping malls near the hospital. Our staff will accompany your family members to make purchases if you need them. In addition, our staff can help you shop online and items will be delivered to your hospital door within the hour.
How do I order food during my hospitalization?
During your stay in the hospital, there will be a QR code for food reservations in the dining room on the back of each ward door, so you can scan the QR code to view the menu and make a reservation for your favorite food. The food will be delivered inside the ward. If you want some other food, our staff will help translate the menu and order the food online for you.
If my visa expires while I am in China, how do I extend my visa?
For this part, our staff will take you to the Exit-Entry Administration Hall for visa extension one to two weeks in advance and all supporting documents will be provided by us. The new visa will be processed within 7 days.
If we need to go out, how do we get a cab and pay for it?
In China, we mainly use the “DIDI滴滴” app and the driver will pick you up from your location. If you don’t know how to use it, our staff will help you book a car on your phone, so please feel free to ask for help.
If I want to travel after the treatment is over? Will you help me?
Yes, our staff will accompany you on your travels in China, and if you need, we will also contact a tour guide from a travel agency to accompany you and introduce you to the tourist attractions.
How do I exchange my cash for RMB in China?
There are many banks near the hospital and our staff will take you to the bank for currency exchange. The exchange rate changes from time to time and the amount of money exchanged is based on the exchange rate of the day.
